With no major meets held over the weekend, several Olympians and tertiary athletes gathered at the GC Foster College for the second staging of the seniors link-up track and field meet.
The meet which held its first staging last year, was hailed as a success by organizer Paul Francis, who says the event gave senior athletes an opportunity to compete among themselves, after playing second fiddle to their junior counter-parts for the a large part of the track and field season to-date.
Meanwhile, with the 2017 Inter-collegiate track and field championship three weeks away, several tertiary athletes had a chance to test their readiness. Among those competing were the GC Foster College pair of Marzel Miller and Daniel Glave.
Glave won the men's 1500 metres with 3:56.94 seconds while Miller clocked a personal best 51.13 seconds in the 400m hurdles. The Inter-collegiate track and field championships is set for April 7 and 8 inside the National Stadium.
