Seven Jamaican winners at Junior College Championships

Former national junior standouts Okeen Williams and Ayesha Champagnie were among seven Jamaican winners at the National Junior College Track and Field Championships in the United States.

Williams formerly of STETHS and who was finalist at the 2013 World Youth Championships, won the men's 400 metres, hurdles clocking 51.85 seconds to win ahead of South Plains team-mate and fellow Jamaican Rayan Holmes 52.49. Another former STETHS representative, Robin Black now at Western Texas College, was third.

Andre Ewers competing for Butler College, clocked 10.27 seconds to win the men's 100 metres and was 2nd in the 200 metres with 20.83. Sanjae Lawrence competing for Barton Community College, threw 48.73 meters for 3rd in the men's discus.

Champaignie who formerly of St Andrew Technical, won the women's hepthalon with 5227 points ahead of fellow Jamaican Latavi Coombs who took 2nd competing for New Mexico. Coombs won the triple jump with 13.03 meters.

Kimisha Chambers competing for Western Texas, won the 400 metres hurdles in 1 minute flat and 93 seconds.

Nyoka Clunis representing Cloud County, won the discus threw with 50.86 metres while Annastacia Forrest competing for IOWA Central, leapt 6.05 meters to win the long jump.
