2008 Olympic 100 metres silver medallist Sherone Simpson is back on track after giving birth to her first child in late 2016.
However, Simpson has her eyes set on competition for the 2018 season and possibly a qualifying spot on the team to the Commonwealth Games, to be held on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. Simpson spoke on Hitz 92 FM's Girls Sports Club on Wednesday.
“I will not be competing for this season; my aim is for 2018 so I’m just using 2017 to train and get ready for next season," she said. Simpson, is also against the proposal by European Athletics to erase world and European records set before 2005.
“They are not able to say who were clean and who were taking drugs so I think that the records should stand,” added Simpson.
