Slayers beat Rebels to win NBL crown

St George's Slayers are the champions of the National Basketball League after beating UWI Runnin Rebels 74-60 on Sunday night to win the best-of-three series 2-1. Michael Rodgers of the Slayers registered 25 points and 12 rebounds and was named Most Valuable Player.

Anthony White chipped in with 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Slayers. Jevaughn Bailey and Kimani Ffriend combined for 27 points for the Runnin Rebels. It's the second time this season that the Slayers were beating the Rebels in a final after claiming the Southern Conference title in May.
