Spartans and Exed Heats to contest Community Basketball League final

Spanish Town Spartans and Exed Heats will contest the final of the Howard McCatty Community Basketball Competition after both teams advanced from their semi-final playoffs. The Spartans booked their spot after beating the Majesty Gardens Legends 86-79 at the Thompson Park Court in Spanish Town on Tuesday to take the best of three series 2-1.

Their opponents in the final, Exed Heats also had a 2-1 series win after they beat the Rae Town Raptors 72-63 at the Peace Park Court in Grants Pen on Monday night. Anthony White led the way for the Heats with 19 points and 12 rebounds, with valuable contributions from Fabian Sutherland who had 14 points and Tommy McDonald who scored 11 points grabbed 9 rebounds and dished out 5 assists. Jerome Thomas was the high man for Rae Town with 26 points while Ramone Spence chipped in with 21.
