Spaulding book second round DaCosta Cup spot

Spaulding High booked their place in the second round of the ISSA DaCosta Cup, following  a 2-0 victory over Zone 'G' leaders Alston High at the Kirkvine Sports Club. Spaulding were led to victory on a double strike from Keshawn Brown, the first of which came in the 58th minute. His second was scored in the fifth minute of time added on at the end of the second half.

The win pushed Spaulding to 20 points, two behind Alston and three ahead of Knox. In the other Zone 'G' matches, Holmwood blanked third placed Knox 3-0, while Christiana beat Roger Clarke High 4-1. Former champions St Elizabeth Technical were 4-2 winners away at Lacovia in Zone 'E'. Black River edged Sydney Pagon 3-2, while Munro were held to a goalless draw by Maggotty. Defending champions Clarendon College clipped Lennon 1-0 in their Zone 'H' encounter, while Edwin Allen had a 4-1 win over Kellits.

Action in Zone 'I' saw York Castle outscoring Iona 3-2, Oracabessa edging Brown's Town 1-0  and it was goalless between Ocho Rios High and Marcus Garvey Technical.

In the East, Seaforth High blanked Morant Bay High 4-0 in Zone 'O', Robert Lightbourne had a 1-0 win over Paul Bogle, while St Thomas Technical scored the odd goal in five over Yallahs.
