Statues of Bolt and SFP to be erected at National Stadium

9 time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt will have his first statue erected in Jamaica next year. Sports minister Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange revealed those plans as she gave details of the reception to be held for the nation’s Olympians and Paralympians at a press briefing on Tuesday.

Two time Olympic sprint champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Veronica Campbell-Brown and Asafa Powell will also have statues erected over the next two years.

Bolt and Fraser-Pryce will have their statues erected at the National Stadium in time for Jamaica’s 55th anniversary of independence celebrations next year.
