Sunshine Girl departs for ANZ League

Voice of Sunshine Girl Jhanielle Fowler-Reid

National goal-shooter Jhanielle Fowler-Reid, departed the island on Sunday enroute to New Zealand for her fourth season of the ANZ League.

Fowler-Reid has guided Mico ‘A’ to the quarter-finals of the ongoing Netball Jamaica Sunshine Open League and doesn’t believe her departure at this stage of the competition will seriously affect the team.

“They won’t be weakened; they have depth and a lot of players who are capable enough to go out on court and win every match that’s left,” she said.

The quarter finals of the Sunshine League start on Tuesday at the Leila Robinson Courts.

Regarding her upcoming stint in New Zealand with the Southern Steel, she’s looking forward to producing another outstanding season.

“Definitely, I’m ready…I’ve been preparing myself on and off court at home just the same so I’m ready to go down there and do my best,” said the senior Sunshine Girl.
