Sunshine Girls take lead over English Roses in 3-test series

Jamaica's Sunshine Girls are 1-0 up in their three match series against England after defeating the English Roses 55-43 in the opening match at the National Arena on Thursday night. The Sunshine Girls led throughout the contest including 35-21 at half time and 46-35 at the end of the third before holding off the English women to finish with the 12 goal victory. 

Captain Jahnielle Fowler led the way for the Sunshine Girls with 34 goals from 35 attempts and got support from Shanice Beckford who had 12 from 17 and Shantal Slater 7 from 7. The second match will be played on Saturday evening at the National Indoor Sports Centre.
