Tallawahs remain perfect at home

A topscore of 97 by Chadwick Walton and 50 from Kumar Sangakkara guided the Jamaica Tallawahs to a 36 run victory over the Barbados Tridents under the Duckworth Lewis method to record their fourth victory from as many games at home in the CPL T20 on Wednesday night at Sabina Park.

Walton shared a vital 127 run partnership with Kumar Sangakarra who made 50 after Chris Gayle was again dismissed cheaply, this time for 8. Rovman Powell also chipped in with 34 as the home team posted 195-5 in the game

Chasing 196 to win, the Tridents were dismissed for 159 with Dale Steyn claiming 4-27.

Only Nicholas Pooran with 51, made any significant contribution as the Tallawahs became the only team to complete an unbeaten home campaign. The victory extended the team's lead atop the table with 13 points, three ahead of Guyana Amazon Warriors.

The Tallawahs will next play the St Lucia Zouks on July 30 and 31 in the last matches of the regular round.
