Tereshkin scores TKO over Ocando in feature fight on "Gloves over Guns" card

Russian Vladimir Tereshkin won the WBC International Heavyweight Medal, after a technical knockout over Williams Ocondo of Venezuala on Satruday night at the Gloves over Guns Pro-Am card at the Ambassador Theatre in Trench Town. Tereshkin turned in a dominating performance to beat the much smaller and lighter former cruiserweight Ocando. The big Russian punished Ocando throughout the fight, landing head and body shots at will, leaving the Venezuelan to clinch to avoid the punishment.

In the night's co-feature, a lightweight contest, the Atlanta-based Headley "The Light Ras" Scott scored a unananimous decision win over Mexico's Jesus Laguan.

Meanwhile, Jamaica's Toriano Nicholas suffered his second career knockout from his third professional fight, after he was stopped by Kentucky's Carlos Dixon in their sixth round lightweight contest.
