Triathlete appeals for return of stolen bike

Voice of national junior triathlete Llori Sharpe

Triathlete Llori Sharpe is making an appeal for the return of her Giant bicycle which was stolen last week. The bike, cycling gear and other items were stolen last Wednesday by thieves who broke into the Sharpe family's home.

Sharpe, who was the female winner of Sunday’s Best Dressed Chicken Everyone's A Winner 5k in 22 minutes, is still shaken by the incident.

“It definitely hit me hard. I was supposed to carry it to Puerto Rico this Monday and even though we were able to burrow a bike, it’s really hurtful and I really want back my bike,” said Sharpe.

As a result of her strong showing in recent overseas championships, the St Andrew High School student has been invited to several events this summer, including the US National Trials. The teenager is hoping the bike will be spotted.

“It’s a Giant (brand) bike and it’s red, white and black and it’s probably the only Giant you will see on the road so please help me,” said Sharpe.Sherona Stewart 22 minutes and 51 seconds and Victoria Nelson 23 minutes and 43 seconds, were second and third respectively in the female section of Sunday’s race.

Lenford Adams 16 minutes 19 seconds, Shawn Pitter 16 minutes 57 seconds and Kajay Walker 17 minutes 49 seconds, topped the male section.
