Uncle Frank upstages I Am Di One in St Cecelia Cup

Commentary by Track Announcer Brian Rickman

Uncle Frank at odds of 5-2 landed the St Cecelia Cup, an Open Allowance contest, going over 6 and half furlongs at Caymanas Park on Wednesday. Stablemates I Am Di One, the 1000 Guineas winner and 3-5 favourite and Exhilarate set blistering splits before running out of steam and making way for the fast finishing Uncle Frank.

The five year old dark bay gelding who was ridden by Phillip Parchment for 18-time champion trainer Wayne DaCosta, won by a length and a half in one minute, 19-and-one fifth.

Trainer Patrick "Wacky" Lynch had a three time timer on the 11 race card while there was a double for claiming apprentice Daniel Satchell. Racing continues on Saturday with an 11-race card featuring the Governor General Stakes over 10 furlongs.
