The unveiling of the statue of eight time Olympic champion Usain Bolt as well as the reception in honour of Jamaica's athletes to the London World Championships has been postponed from October 13 to December 3.
A statement from the Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Honourable Olivia Grange, noted that the postponement has come in in light of the weather forecast for showers and thunderstorms.
Additonally, it noted that some guests for the event have been affected by recent hurricanes and are unable to travel to Jamaica at this time. The decision was also made in in consultation with Bolt's management team. The reception for the athletes will take place immediately following the statue unveiling on Sunday, December 3.
