Veteran coach wants greater focus on junior programmes

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Jordan Forte

Veteran track and field coach and head coach of Wolmer's Girls team Michael Carr says he wants to see a greater focus on developing the junior programmes for whoever becomes the next JAAA president.

Carr has also weighed in on the three proposals by the Jamaica Track and Field Coaches Association (JATAFCA) on the staging of champs next year.

Carr who has been coaching for over 40 years, is leaning towards the suggestion of having a separate championships for boys and girls over 6 days.

Carr says he would like to see more timely decisions being made as it relates to the naming of athletes and coaching staff for national junior teams.
