Waterhouse starts third round of RSPL on winning note

Leaders Waterhouse began the third round of the Red Stripe Premier League on a winning note after clipping Vere United 1-0 at the Wembley Centre of Excellence on Sunday. The Drewsland-based club snatched the win at the death with Shaquille Bradford netting in the 3rd minute of stoppage time. The victory moves Waterhouse to 43 points, while relegation- threatened Vere remain at the foot of the table on 16 points.

The other relegation-threated team UWI FC, also went down 1-0 to Tivoli Gardens at the Edward Seaga Complex. Stephen Barnett's 71st minute strike condemned UWI to their 10th defeat of the season. They remain in 11th on 16 points, 8 points adrift from safety. Tivoli on the other hand, are now in playoff contention as they moved up to 7th on 32 points.

Defending champions Portmore United registered a 2-0 win over the struggling Molynes United at the Constant Spring Filed. A 28th minute own goal from Rolando Smith and a 41st minute strike from Shande James, gave Portmore the victory as they moved to 36 points, 4 behind second placed Mount Pleasant Academy.

Shevan James scored the only goal in Dunbeholden's 1-0 win over Cavalier, pushing them into the top 6, while Cavalier remains 8th. Humble Lion beat Arnett Gardens 3-1 in the late kickoff. In the Monday night fixture, Harbour View entertain Mount Pleasant at the Compound, starting at 8:00 pm.
