It was another good day for the West Indies fast bowlers as the Caribbean side produced an impressive opening day performance in the second test against Sri Lanka at the Darren Sammy Stadium in St Lucia. The Caribbean side dismissed the visitors for 253 before closing the day at 2-0.

Sri Lankan captain Dinesh Chandimal was the leading scorer for his team ending not out on 119. He was supported by Kusal Mendis 45 and Kusal Perera 32. Shannon Gabriel was once again outstanding for the Windies, bagging 5-59 while Kemar Roach had 4-49. The Windies who have gone with an unchanged squad will resume with Kraig Brathwaite on 2 and Devon Smith naught. The West Indies lead the three test series 1-0 after a massive 226 run win at the Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad.
