The West Indies drew their three match Twenty20 Series against Ireland at 1-1 following their crushing 9 wicket victory in the second encounter which was played as a day/night affair in Basseterre, St Kitts on Sunday. Chasing 139 to win, the Windies cruised home at 140-1 with 54 balls remaining as Man of the Match Lendl Simmons led the way with an undefeated 91 off 40 balls including 10 sixes and 5 fours. He shared an opening stand of 133 with Evin Lewis who weighed in with 46.
Earlier, the Irish who were sent in to bat were dismissed 138 in 19.1 overs. Kevin O'Brien top scored for the visitors with 36 as only four batsmen got into double figures. Captain Kieron Pollard bagged 3-17 with support from countryman Dwayne Bravo 3-19. Sherfane Rutherford and Romario Shepherd took a wicket each. Ireland won the first contest by 4 runs, while the second game ended in a no-result.
