Windies drop in World T20 rankings

Despite winning the World Cup, the West Indies have fallen a place to third in the latest ICC Twenty20 rankings.

The new cycle disregarded results from the 2012-13 season and therefore West Indies, who won their first Twenty20 Championship in 2012, lost points, hence the slip in the rankings. New Zealand have climbed to number one in the world ahead of India with South Africa fourth and England fifth.

New Zealand have 132 points, having played their first World T20 semi-final since 2007. India also have 132 points, but New Zealand were ahead by a factor of 0.21 when decimal points were taken into consideration.

While West Indies fell in the T20 rankings, they remain firm at number eight in the 50 over format being led by Australia ahead of New Zealand and South Africa.
