Windies lose opening test to Kiwis

The West Indies have lost their opening test to New Zealand by an innings and 67 runs at the Basin Reserve in Wellington. After starting day 4 on 214-2, the visitors were bowled out for 319 with Kraigg Brathwaite top- scoring with 91 runs.

Shimron Hetmyer got 66; Kieran Powell 40 and Shai Hope 37. Matt Henry did the damage with the ball for New Zealand with 3-57. Neil Wagner won the Man-of-the-Match award for his spell of 7-39 in the first innings.

The Kiwis lead the two match series 1-0. The second test will be at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Saturday.
