West Indies One Day International captain Jason Holder credited an all-round batting performance for the team's 54 run win on Duckworth/Lewis over the Netherlands on Monday. The win gives the West Indies four valuable points heading into the Super Sixes which starts on Thursday.
Evin Lewis top-scored with 84 while the Jamaican pair of Marlon Samuels and Rovman Powell added 73 and 52 respectively. Holder says the batsmen are showing good form at the right time. From Group 'A' the West Indies, Ireland and the United Arab Emirates advance to the Super Sixes, while from Group ‘B’, Zimbabwe, Scotland and Afghanistan await the Windies.
West Indies' first game in the Super Sixes will be against Afghanistan on Thursday. This fixture will be followed by a match against the host nation Zimbabwe next week Monday before closing out the Super Sixes on March 22 against Scotland.
