Rahane, however fell shortly after, bowled by Gabriel for 81 and roach struck again as Vihari went for 32 with India at 189- 6. Rishabh Pant 20 and Ravindra Jadeja 3, then carried India to the close at 203-6. Roach ended the day with figures of 34 and Gabriel 2-49.
