Windies staring down the barrel against India in first test

It was another tough day for the West Indies against hosts India in the first test at Rajkot as the Caribbean team was left tottering at 94-6 in their first innings reply at stumps on day 2. They trail by 555 runs. Roston Chase 27 and Keemo Paul 13 were the batsmen at the crease at the close of play. Mohammed Shami has taken 2-11 so far.

Earlier, India posted 649-9 declared in their first innings after resuming on 364-4. Captain Virat Kohli carried on to 139 from his overnight 72 while fellow overnight batsman Risbah Pant made 92  after resuming on 17. Ravindra Jadeja also hammered 100 not out against the hapless Windies attack. Devendra Bishoo ended with 4-217 while debutant Sherman Lewis took 2-93.
