Windies to face Ireland and Bangladesh in tri-nation series

The West Indies will take on host Ireland and Bangladesh in a One Day International tri-series starting on May 5 as part of their preparation for the ICC World Cup. The tri-series will entail a double round-robin phase followed by a final which takes place on May 17. The West Indies could however be without top players such as Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Andre Russell, Carlos Brathwaite, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran and Oshane Thomas who will all be involved in the Indian Premier League.

Those players will however be considered for selection if their respective franchises fail to make the playoffs of the IPL which is likely to begin on May 7. Both the West Indies and Bangladesh will use the series to prepare for the ICC World Cup which begins in England on May 30.
