Windies to meet Pakistan in day/night test

Confirmation came on Friday that the West Indies will play the second day-night test ever when they meet Pakistan under floodlights in Dubai on October 13.

The match will bowl off a 3-game series, with the other matches set for Abu Dhabi and Sharjah to be regular day time encounters. The teams will meet in three Twenty20 and three One Day Internationals before the test series.

West Indies will also get to play a warm-up match against an ECB X1 in preparation for the matches. The ICC approved day-night tests in a bid to boost attendances and TV ratings.

Australia and New Zealand met in the first flood-lit test last November in Adelaide.
