The West Indies visually impaired cricket team is expressing gratitude after receiving the much needed $3.2 million to travel to the World Cup in India from January 29 to February 12. The regional team, which includes nine Jamaicans, looked like missing the tournament for the second time due to a lack of funds.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) Courtney Francis says the Ministry of Sports and the JCA combined to come up with the funds.
Coach of the regional visually impaired cricket team Glendon Coke says news comes as relief for the players.
