Less than two weeks after RJR Sports reported that there would be changes to the management of the West Indies women's team, Cricket West Indies has confirmed the appointment of a new interim management staff. The team will be led in the interim by coach Henderson Springer with Gus Logie as his assistant.
The rest of the team consists of physiotherapist Ariane Mangar, sport and conditioning trainer Shayne Cooper and Gary Belle as analyst.
Cricket West Indies however confirmed that a new management team will be established before the World Twenty20 champions welcome the touring Sri Lankan team starting October 5.
An 18-member squad will gather for a camp from September 25 - October 4, from which the final 13 will be selected for the three One Day Internationals, and three T20 matches, scheduled for Trinidad and Tobago and Antigua. The Windies women are getting set for their title defence in the region from November 2 - 25 2018.
Late last month, the previous staff, led by coach Vasbert Drakes, was shown the door after the team lost five out of their seven Women's World Cup matches, as well as two of the three warm-up matches.
