Windies women lose third ODI to India women

The West Indies women went down by 6 wickets to India's women in their 3rd and final One Day International in Antigua on Wednesday. Jamaican Stafanie Taylor fell 21 runs short of another ODI century as the West Indies women batting first, posted 194 all out.


Taylor scored 79 from 112 deliveries and shared in a 96 run sixth wicket partnership with Stacy-Ann king who made 38. The two came together with the score on 84-5. Hayley Mathews in her first game back from an eight game suspension, was run-out for 26.

Poonam Yadav took two wickets for the Indians. India's women  got to their target at 195-4 with 47 deliveries remaining as Matthews bagged 3-27. India won the series 2-1.

With the West Indies losing the ODI series, they will now head to the World Cup qualifier which will be held in Sri Lanka next year. The Caribbean side will face the likes of Ireland, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Zimbabwe, USA, Papua New Guinea and the Netherlands as they fight for one of three World Cup spots. The last time the Windies failed to qualify for the World Cup was in 2000.
