WIPA president weighs in on Bravo's absence from Windies team

Voice of WIPA president Wavell Hinds

President of the West Indies Players Association (WIPA), Wavell Hinds has weighed in on the current situation regarding regional batsman Darren Bravo.

Bravo had been sent home from a tri-nation series in Zimbabwe last November following a tweet in which he called West Indies Cricket Board president Dave Cameron a “big idiot”.

But with Bravo not being a member of WIPA, Hinds says there is no action the association can take on his behalf.

“WIPA deals with matters that affect its members and Darren Bravo is not a member of WIPA. Having said that, there are things we deal with that have to do with institutional structures and from where we sit, I think all the contracts and agreements between the WICB and WIPA have been signed off on. If the player is not a member of WIPA, he would have to deal with that on his own and I’m sure Darren Bravo is pretty much capable of dealing with that,” said Hinds.
