Wolmer's beat Tarrant to keep pressure on JC in Manning Cup

Wolmers defeated Tarrant 3-0 on Tuesday at Stadium East in action from the ISSA Manning Cup to keep pressure on Group 'E' leaders Jamaica College. Wolmers went ahead in the 41st minute through an own goal when Tarrant’s goalkeeper Jonathan Currie palmed the ball in his own net.

Rivaldo Mitchell put the Wolmerians further ahead in minute 61 and Shomour McLean sealed the points in the 82nd minute. The game also had an unfortunate incident involving three players with Tarrant's Ahamad Cole taken to the University Hospital after colliding with the Wolmers' goalkeeper.

Meanwhile, Jamaica College maintained their 5 point lead over the Heroes’ Circle- based team as they easily got by Innswood High 4-0. In the same group, Vauxhall had a 2-0 victory over Jose Marti.

Elsewhere, Ascot High recorded their third win of the season, beating Kingston High 3-1 while in the other encounter from Group 'B', Donald Quarrie surprised Denham Town 2-1. Group 'B' leaders Jonathan Grant extended their lead atop the table to 9 points following their 1-0 win over second placed Charlie Smith.
