All is on track for the completion of work and laying of the synthetic all-weather track at the Kingston College Melbourne Park Campus.
But the laying of the track means at least one traditional sport will make way for its construction. Late February is the timeline set for the completion of work on the new track.
Work on the construction of the track started in October and Pave Con, the company which is responsible for the initial work including surfacing of the track, says at least 95 percent of the work has been completed. German manufacturers BSW Regupol will complete the next phase of the project including the laying of the track.
The construction also includes installing a football field, which will be of international standard. But while the construction of the new track at the junior campus will cater to football, it will not do so for cricket which once dominated activities at the ground.
While rivals Calabar High get set to stage their second meet at their newly-laid synthetic track on Red Hills Road, Kingston College are keeping pace and will soon open their gates to their very own all-weather state of the art track.
