World-class competition expected at National Championships

Report by RJR Group Sports Reporter Jordan Forte

Organizers say they will be expecting world class competition from the nation's top athletes within the next three weeks as they launched the JAAA Supreme Ventures National Senior and Junior Championships on Tuesday.

The two events are expected to garner global interest, as some of the world's top senior and junior athletes vie for spots to the respective games.

The Senior Championships will also serve as a qualifier for the NACAC Under 23 Championship from July 15-17 in El Salvador.

In the meantime, 500 athletes will compete for a place on Jamaica's team to the World Under 20 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

The RJR Communications Group will have live and exclusive television coverage of the National Senior Championships on TVJ and TVJ SN as well as live radio coverage on HITZ 92 FM. There will also be coverage online at one spot media.com.

The National Senior Championships will run from June 30 - July 3 and will be preceded by the National Junior Championships to be held June 18 - 19, both at the National Stadium.

The RJR Group will also have coverage of the National Junior Championships.
