Young Reggae Boyz draw with Mexico to stay in the hunt at CONCACAF Championship

A late strike from Harbour View's midfielder Tyreek Magee earned Jamaica a 2-2 draw with Mexico in the CONCACAF Under-20 World Cup qualifiers at the IMG Field in the United States on Tuesday night. An own goal from Javain Brown gave Mexico the lead after just 21 minutes before Leonardo Jibbison levelled things for the Jamaicans just after the hour mark.

But five minutes after the equalizer, the Jamaicans found themselves trailing again as, Mexico  took a 2-1 advantage through a 61st minute penalty that was converted by Jose Macias. However, Magee ensured the Jamaicans were still in with a chance to make the World Cup, when he found the equalizer in the 71st minute.

The match became heated at the end with the issuing of six yellow cards and a straight red to Jamaica's Shandel Senior. The Jamaicans will next play Aruba on Thursday.
