Dynamq wins 2023 Reggae Sumfest Global Sound Clash

An emotional Dynamq was moved to tears on stage after he was declared winner of the 2023 Reggae Sumfest Global Sound Clash.

The South Sudan selector, who outpaced defending champion Bass Odyssey and forced another Jamaican selector into second place at the Pier One car park in Montego Bay, said he would donate his winnings to the poor.

Dynamq, whose given name is Kennedy Ongele Lorya, won 1 million dollars from Magnum and 100 thousand dollars from Sunshine Snacks.

Code Red took second place, while a Jah Works, a Japanese selector who seemed quite likely to make the first runner-up position, placed third.

Magnum All-Star Soundclash winner, Echo One, exited in the second round.

The African deejay won six of the 10 rounds during the final round of the electrifying clash.

He easily won the support of the large crowd and could do no wrong, pulling for dub plate after dub plate, featuring some of Jamaica's most iconic artistes including Buju Banton and Tony Rebel.
