Commonwealth countries to meet in Washington DC

Innovation will be at the centre of ways to tackle shared challenges facing Commonwealth countries when their finance ministers, central bank governors, and senior finance officials meet this week in Washington DC.

Member states will be discussing ways to address climate change, financial exclusion, unemployment and the vulnerability of small and developing states.

Economic adviser in the Commonwealth Secretariat's Oceans and Natural Resources division Dr. Daniel Wilde, said if effective policies aren't put in place, then climate change could result in severe economic and ecological damage.
