C&W Business hikes rates

Customers of C&W Business are facing increased rates.

Citing inflation, currency devaluation, higher programming fees and labour expenses which it says have pushed up service delivery costs, the company will adjust rates effective May 1.

The rate changes will affect fixed line voice, fixed line broadband and the hotel basic TV package.

News of the increase comes days after Cable and Wireless Jamaica's call rates to landlines declined between $9.39 and $10.04 per minute.

The lower rates, which took effect on April 1, were revealed by the Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR).

The rates were reduced after Cable and Wireless failed in its attempt to delay them by three years.

Before the latest reduction, call rates to landlines in Jamaica ranged from $25 to $77 per minute.
