The Ministry of Finance will continue with the implementation of the Fiscal Administration Modernisation Programme this year.
For this purpose, $1.4 billion has been allocated in the 2015/16 Estimates of Expenditure, and this will be reviewed by Parliament's Standing Finance Committee starting today.
The project, which commenced in December 2011, is aimed at strengthening the Finance Ministry’s institutional capacity to improve customs and inland tax collections, as well as manage debt and government payment operations.
