The Ministry of Finance is reporting progress in winding up inactive public sector entities.
According to the Jamaica Public Bodies Report for 2015/2016, the number of inactive entities has been reduced from 74 in 2010, to 24 today. It says various public bodies have obtained expertise and assistance to expedite the process of winding up subsidiaries.
The Finance Ministry expects more inactive public bodies will be wound up.
