Jamaica's trade deficit with the United States rose 26 per cent in the first six months of this year, despite the gap remaining unchanged.
The Statistical Institute of Jamaica (Statin) says the deficit amounted to US$750 million, up from 594 million US last year.
Jamaica bought more than one billion U.S. dollars worth of goods from the United States while selling that country only US$301 million worth of products.
The United States is Jamaica's largest trading partner, accounting for a third of the country's merchandise trade.
