In Monday's trading session, the JSE Index advanced by 861 points, to close at 156,732.
The Junior Market Index was almost unchanged, closing at 2,128.
There was trading in 32 stocks of which 15 advanced, 12 declined and five traded firm.
JMMB's 7.50 per cent preference shares was the volume leader, followed by Supreme Ventures and Lasco Financial Services.
