Southwest Airlines, America's largest low fare carrier, commenced international service from nine US airports to several destinations, including Montego Bay, on Sunday.
The international service is among the final steps of Southwest’s integration of AirTran Airways.
In addition to Montego Bay, Southwest jets now fly from the airline’s nine gateway airports to seven international airports in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and Cancun, Mexico.
Bob Jordan, Executive Vice President of Southwest Airlines and President of AirTran Airways, says, as both airlines approach the end of the integration process, there will be an expansion of offerings to customers.
