Clarendon fisherman facing cocaine charges

A fisherman of Rocky Point in Clarendon is to appear before the St. Ann Parish Court on Wednesday to answer charges of breaching the Dangerous Drugs Act.
 
He is 40 year old Marlon Risden.
 
Mr. Risden was held on Sunday after he was allegedly found with one kilogram of cocaine valued at $1.3 million.
 
The Narcotics Police say a team was conducting operations in Mammee Bay, St. Ann when about 1:30, they intercepted a Toyota Mark X.
 
The vehicle and its driver were searched and a parcel containing the cocaine allegedly found in the trunk.
 
Mr. Risden was interviewed and subsequently charged with possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, and use of conveyance.
