District constable dies after being shot allegedly by accident

A district constable who was injured in what the police say was an accidental shooting died on Thursday night in hospital.
    
He is 27 year-old Duran Smith who was attached to the Spanish Town Missing Persons Unit.
    
District Constable Smith was shot by a policewoman on February 17. The incident occurred about 3:00 p.m. at the Aviary Housing Scheme in Old Harbour, St. Catherine.
   
The two officers who were in a relationship, got into an argument during which, DC Smith was shot.
 
The Old Harbour Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) says it is continuing its investigations.
