Dominican Republic's President Sánchez in Jamaica for bilateral talks

It has been a busy day for Dominican Republic President Danilo Medina Sánchez, who arrived in Jamaica on Monday morning for a one-day state visit.

His arrival at Norman Manley International Airport was greeted with a symbolic 21-gun salute from the Jamaica Defence Force.

Following official engagements, he held discussions Monday afternoon with the Government.

The meeting was aimed at forging deeper ties between both countries.

At the end of the state visit, President Medina will travel to St. James, where he will participate in the three-day United Nations World Tourism Organisation conference at Montego Bay Convention Centre.
