The father of an eight-year-old boy whose body was found in a tank on Tuesday morning in Barnstable, St. Ann, has been taken into custody.
Ayequan Currie, a student at Madras All Age School, was reported missing by his father on Monday night following a search of his home.
When the search resumed Tuesday morning, the police and the fire department were called.
The second grader's body was subsequently removed from the tank.
Principal for the Madras All Age School Sashana Bryan-Campbell bemoaned Ayequan's death, describing him as fun and loving.
She told Radio Jamaica News that the school body has been plunged into sadness and that Ayequan will be greatly missed.
