Four shot and killed by police in Old Harbour Bay, St. Catherine

Tension remains high in Old Harbour Bay, St. Catherine, following an incident in which four men were shot fatally, during what the police described as a reported confrontation during a security operation.

Investigators say three illegal guns were allegedly seized during the operation. 

The incident has sparked a demonstration, which turned ugly, after angry residents set a vehicle on fire, while demanding justice.

A police source revealed that additional police and military personnel have been deployed to the troubled Old Harbour Bay community, as the potential for the escalation of civil unrest looms large. 

One of the dead men has been identified as Jermaine O'Connor and a man known only as Kemo. All are believed to be in their twenties.
