A bulldozer is prepared to demolish a building on the property in October last year after residents were issued with an eviction notice
The Government has made an offer for the property at 85 Red Hills Road in St. Andrew.
The Government has been in negotiations since last year with the attorney for the owner of property to purchase it on behalf of about 50 families who are facing eviction.
The offer was made on Tuesday.
Franklin Grenyion, attorney for the owner, told RJR News he plans to respond to the Government before the end of the week.
Last year, the Government sought to get an injunction to prevent the eviction of the residents, but was denied.
It became involved in the matter after a stand-off in October between the residents and the persons enforcing the eviction notice.
