The nation's power grid is currently facing severe strains due to technical skill shortages, rising demand, and ageing infrastructure, leading to disruptions.
President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali says the government will use a multi-pronged approach, including natural gas, solar power, and hydroelectric power.
Guyana has been contending with very low electricity supply, linked both to technical and institutional deficiencies in the sector, with total losses close to 40 per cent.
