Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton is to update the country Friday afternoon on coronavirus in Jamaica.
The number of confirmed cases of the virus in the island remains at eight.
On Friday morning, the Ministry of Health announced six new cases most of which were imported.
Two were transmitted locally.
A 58 year old man, who is the father of the first patient confirmed with COVID-19 in Jamaica, and a 34 year old woman who is a close contact of the patient were diagnosed with the virus.
The other four cases are related to the patients' travel history.
