Heart Foundation silent on lawsuit brought against it by Wisynco

The Heart Foundation of Jamaica is keeping silent about the legal move by Wisynco Group to block its campaign against sugary drinks.

Lawyers representing Wisynco, which makes CranWata, have filed legal action in the Supreme Court seeking a declaration that information published on the Foundation's Instagram page was defamatory.

The court documents state that the Instagram post makes an inaccurate claim about the volume of sugar in each bottle of  Cranwata.

When RJR News contacted Deborah Chen, Executive Director of the Heart Foundation, on Wednesday afternoon, she said she was not able to speak on the matter.

She said the Foundation has been advised by its lawyers not to make any public statements at this time.
